Using Garden Plants - September Meeting

Join us Thursday, Sept. 23, at the Carol Stream Public Library, where we'll hear about bringing our gardening skills to the kitchen with a talk titled "Kitchen Gardens: Using Herbs, Vegetables and Flowers in Cooking.” We get together at 6:30 p.m. in the meeting room for snacks and socializing. We'll get started about 7 p.m. and the meeting runs until 9:00 p.m. Hope to see you there!

June Meeting

Hope to see you at our next meeting, Thursday, June 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Winfield Community Bank. The bank is located just east of County Farm Road on the south side of Geneva Road. Come meet our members, find out how everyone's gardens are doing and maybe pick up some tips to help improve yours.

Plant Sale a Success

Our May plant sale was a great success! Thank you to everyone who helped at the garden club plant sale, whether by making signs, donating plants, pricing, setting up or selling, we appreciate you helping to make it a great sale.

May 15 Plant Sale

We will have our annual plant sale May 15 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Carol Stream Village Town Center "visitor's center" area on the north end of the parking lot at Gary and Lies Road. Many plants from which to choose, great prices and a raffle. Come and get some great deals on plants grown organically!

April 15 Meeting

Join us as we prepare for our May 15 plant sale. We'll have our usual social time from 6:30-7:00 p.m., with snacks. Then, starting at 7 p.m., we'll be making plant sticks, price stickers and discussing layout for the plant sale. We'll also be working on signs, creating a tentative plant list and making a tentative list of equipment to loan, such as sleds, wagons and canopies. This is your opportunity to meet other like-minded organic gardeners. Our meeting will be held at Heritage Presbyterian Church on Kuhn Road in Carol Stream - newcomers are always welcome!

March 25 Meeting

Join us Thursday, March 25, as Connie Bailey from The Growing Place in Naperville presents "Grow Your Own Edibles in Small Spaces." You'll get tips to save you money as you grow your own tomatoes and other vegetables tucked in with your perennials. What's better than a fresh-picked tomato, grown without harmful chemicals? The meeting will be held at Winfield Community Bank in Winfield Point Shopping Center on Geneva Road (just east of County Farm Road). At 6:30 p.m. we'll have our informal "Chat and Chocolate" time, the business meeting will take place at 7:00 and the speaker's presentation will start about 7:15. Feb. 25 Workshop Meeting

Our next meeting will be a Feb. 25 workshop meeting where you may decorate a tote bag, help create new name tags or help create thank you notes for the group. We'll go over our programs calendar for 2010, fill our open positions of treats coordinator, membership chairperson, etc. and we'll have a dollar raffle as usual. This will be a fun opportunity to socialize and share your plans for your gardens this year. We'll meet at the Winfield Community Bank in Winfield Point Shopping Center on Geneva Rd. (just east of County Farm Rd) at 6:30 for some snacks and socializing. We'll get the workshop started at 7 p.m.
