February 4: at the Carol Stream Public Library, sponsored by the Library as requested by us: Please register by calling the Library, 630 653-0755
Mark your calendar for Presidents' Month, February 4, at 7 p.m., at the Carol Stream Public Library for a very
interesting program by Kay McKeen: “Our Founding Gardeners”, based on a book of same title, about George
Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Paul Revere, etc., our country’s founding fathers, about their gardening and
farming methods. Of course they were pretty organic back then with composting, recycling and reusing. Kay makes it
relevant to sustainable practices for today. If we had followed their lead, our soil and environment would be much
healthier. Kay McKeen is founder of SCARCE, a not-for-profit environmental education agency in its 24th year.
For adults and children fourth grade and up.
